Meals on Wheels Central Texas In-Home Care has taken several steps to limit the possibility of potential COVID-19 exposure to those we serve as we continue to provide essential in-home care services to help our clients remain safe in their home.

Our caregivers have received extra training in infection control, universal precautions and specific training in how COVID-19 is spread in the community. They are trained to take every possible precaution to ensure health and safety while delivering service.

Prior to arrival for a client visit our caregivers pre-screen themselves for any sign of illness. If they are symptomatic, we arrange for another caregiver to provide the service and make appropriate notifications. Upon arrival the caregiver asks a series of questions to pre-screen household members for symptoms of COVID-19 and other illnesses. This information is documented and submitted to our office where it becomes part of our records in the event that contact tracing is necessary.

We strictly enforce and adhere to all CDC and local health authority guidelines. Caregivers wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as masks and gloves during service delivery and practice social distancing when possible. Clients are invited to wear a face covering while receiving services should they choose to do so. We gladly provide masks for clients upon request.

As the pandemic continues, Meals on Wheels Central Texas In-Home Care will continue to provide services safely by following the proper protocols to help those most at risk to remain safe at home.
